Comprehensive Examination Information

The Comprehensive Exam will be administered as follows:

Date:  April 5, 2008 (Saturday)

Time: 10:30 AM - 2:30 PM

Location: 423B, 423 and 427

Closed Book, Closed Notes.

Format:

The maximum number of questions in each subject area will be 5.

Each student must answer seven questions (including the essay) covering at least three subject areas distributed as follows:

One (1) essay question from any subject area.
Two (2) questions from your subject area of choice.
Four (4) questions to cover at least two subject areas other than the subject area selected above and not more than two questions in any area.

There are no conditional passes

No “cheat” sheets are allowed; equations sheets may be distributed at the exam by the exam coordinator which may be useful – but not all inclusive of those needed to solve the problems.

Passing the Exam requires an average score of at least 70% for the seven questions answered.
