Computer Programming Lab (E301)

Usage: CompE160

Lab Coordinator: Len Marino

Students enrolled in Introduction to Computer Programming (CompE160, 7 sections) use the E-301 computer facility.

The laboratory contains 35 SunRay 1 "thin-client" terminals connected to a Sun Ultra Enterprise 4500 server. Two Cisco 2900XL Ethernet switches provide switched interconnect between each client and server. Engineering software available on the server includes Matlab 6 with Simulink, C, C++, Java, FORTRAN 77, FORTRAN 90 compilers and various integrated development environments (IDEs) such as Forte and JBuilder. In this laboratory, students can use the terminals to access a compute server and use the software development tools on the server to learn computer programming. E-301 is open to students 24hrs a day, seven days a week.
