Usage: CompE375 Embedded Systems, CompE596 Real-time Embedded Systems

Lab Coordinator: Len Marino

This lab has 23 stations, each equipped with a PC, a suite of PC-based virtual instruments from National Instruments Corporation, and a single board computer from Freescale Corporation. The single board computer is based on a Freescale MC9S12C32 Microcontroller chip. This chip includes a 68xx family 8/16-bit CPU, and on board RAM, flash memory, parallel and serial io controllers, analog to digital convertors, pulse width modulators, and general-purpose timers. In addition to the microcontroller chip, the board includes a LED and LCD displays, pushbutton switches, and a breadboard area for connecting to a variety of IO devices. Currently the IO devices include a matrix keypad, photocells, and potentiometers, motors and speakers. For program development, the CodeWarrior Development Studio is used.
