Dr. Chunting Mi Named Among the World’s Top 1% of Highly Cited Researchers for 2025

Dr. Chunting (Chris) Mi, Distinguished Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at San Diego State University, has been recognized as one of the world’s Highly Cited Researchers 2025 by Clarivate’s Web of Science, placing him among the top 1% of scientists worldwide for exceptional research influence and citation impact.

The Highly Cited Researchers program by Clarivate’s Web of Science identifies the world’s most influential scientists whose publications rank in the top 1% by citations for their field and publication year in the Web of Science Core Collection over the past 11 years. The selection combines citation data with expert review and integrity checks to ensure that honorees demonstrate broad, meaningful, and lasting impact across global research communities. This year, 7,131 awards were granted to 6,868 individuals worldwide, with only 186 honorees recognized in engineering. Dr. Mi’s inclusion underscores his sustained and far-reaching contributions to the fields of electric vehicles, power electronics, and sustainable energy systems.
